Goals

To inspire Muslims to make online zakat payments and donate generously to the poor and needy especially during Covid-19 pandemic.

Insights

In 2021, there was an increase of asnaf by 7% from 64,616 to 69,011.  However, 50% of eligible Muslims between 25 – 34 years old did not pay their zakat, adding to the uncertainties in terms of zakat payments due to the pandemic, while many people have problems with their livelihood.
Approach &
Solutions
To encourage Muslims to make online zakat payments, we firstly focused on positioning Lembaga Zakat Selangor into a friendly brand by engaging more with target audience on social media. To heighten the engagement and reach, we also worked with Achey to promote a contest.

A total of 8.3M impressions were accumulated with 2.2M post reach.  4072 Zakat Made during the campaign period.
